Modifications of SCR/AdBlue system
What does the AdBlue removal process involve?
Removal of AdBlue involves programmatically disabling the SCR - here it is necessary to apply modifications to the controller. It should be noted that interference and removal of AdBlue in no way affects the correct operation of the engine. The AdBlue tank is part of the SCR system, so practically always after deactivation problems with the system disappear. This allows vehicle users to enjoy a more comfortable ride.
- Programmatic removal of AdBlue can only be performed by specialists with the knowledge and appropriate tools.
- So we invite customers from Warsaw and workshops that have the appropriate equipment to take advantage of our services.
AdBlue is the trade name for a solution of urea in water, used in compression-ignition engines to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. It is mainly used in vehicles with diesel engines that meet Euro 6 emission standards.
It is a fluid that is injected into the exhaust gas system through the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) process. AdBlue reduces nitrogen oxide emissions through a chemical reaction in which urea in solution reacts with nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas, converting them into nitrogen (N2) and water vapor (H2O), which is less harmful to the environment.
Vehicles equipped with SCR systems and using AdBlue must refill this fluid regularly, usually every few thousand kilometers, depending on consumption. This is important in order for the SCR system to function properly and ensure that nitrogen oxide emissions are reduced, thus meeting emissions standards.
What are the concerns of problems with the AdBlue system?
Removal of the AdBlue system in some cases may be necessary to restore the vehicle to full operation. Signs of AdBlue performance problems include:
- messages about lack of AdBlue even when the tank is full
- activation of the lights indicating a malfunction
- reduction in vehicle power,
- speed limit by computer,
- Counting down the kilometers until the vehicle is immobilized.
If any of the above problems occur, it may mean that AdBlue OFF is necessary.
